Eminent bureaucrat, Shri V.K. Shunglu, former Chairman, The DPS Society for almost a decade, continues in his leadership role as the new Vice Chairman of The DPS Society w.e.f. August 1, 2023.
A former IAS officer, Sir rose to become the Comptroller and Auditor General of India in 2002. He was honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan for his administrative acumen and contributions to various government bodies and committees.
An alumnus of St. Stephens’ College, Delhi University, Mr. Shunglu’s exceptional career graph is a credence to his dedication towards his profession. He is known for his integrity, administrative acumen, and commitment to public service. His roles often involved overseeing large-scale projects and ensuring transparency and accountability in government operations. He was the Principal Secretary in various key ministries, besides representing the government of India in international organizations such as IMF and the World Bank. He also served as the Chairman of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and Member of Prime Minister’s Council on Climate Change, among others.
He was also associated with various key government committees and bodies, where his expertise and insights were instrumental in shaping policies and decisions. One of his notable roles was as the Chairman of the Shunglu Committee, which was formed to investigate alleged irregularities and corruption related to the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi in 2010.
A visionary, whose name resonates with reform, Sir is currently playing an indispensable role in strengthening the educational edifice of the DPS Schools.
